ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the research hotspots and theme in the field of infection prevention and control(infection control) management in operating room in recent six years in China, so as to provide reference for further research on infection control management in operating room. Methods The articles related to infection control management in operating room published in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Wanfang and VIP databases from 2015 to 2021 were selected as the research objects, and Nvivo software query, coding and cluster analysis were adopted as the main methods to visually present the research hotspots and theme groups in the field of infection management in operating rooms. Results A total of 128 literatures with 30 high-frequency keywords were included. After free coding, 8 parent nodes, 28 child nodes, 60 secondary nodes and 1 736 coding reference points were formed. Six theme groups had been formed, which were the guidelines for infection control of COVID-19 infection, construction and management of clean operating rooms, management of relevant personnel in operating rooms, management of surgical supplies, operating room environment control, theoretical support and occupational exposure control. Conclusion The research content related to infection control management in operating rooms is becoming increasingly mature, and is constantly improving in line with the development of the times. The research direction and theory are also showing a trend of diversification. In response to the huge challenge of COVID-19 situation, it is supposed to preparing for surgery protection in general hospitals actively, ensure the safety of patients and medical staff, and prevent hospital infection events. ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 outbreak has significantly impacted supply chains and has caused several supply chain disruptions in almost all industries worldwide. Moreover, increased transportation costs, labor shortages, and insufficient storage facilities have all led to food loss during the pandemic, and this disruption has affected the logistics in the food value chain. As a result, we examine the food supply chain, which is one of the key industries COVID-19 has detrimentally affected, impacting, indeed, on the entire business process from the supplier all the way to the customer. Retail businesses are thus facing supply issues, which affect consumer behavior by creating stress regarding the availability of food. This has a negative impact on the amount of food that is available as well as its quality, freshness, safety, access to markets, and affordability. This study examines the impact of COVID-19 on the United Arab Emirates food distribution systems and how consumer behavior changed in reaction to interruptions in the food supply chain and the food security problem. Hypothesis testing was used in the study's quantitative methodology to assess consumer behavior, and participants who were consumers were given a descriptive questionnaire to ascertain whether the availability and security of food had been impacted. The study used JASP 0.17.2 software to develop a model of food consumption behavior and to reveal pertinent connections between each construct. Results show that consumer food stress and consumption behavior are directly impacted by food access, food quality and safety, and food pricing. Furthermore, food stress has an impact on how consumers behave when it comes to consumption. Food stress, however, is not significantly influenced by food supply.

Objectives: COVID 19 and increasing unmet needs of health technology had accelerated an adoption of digital health globally and the major categories are mobile-health, health information technology, telemedicine. Digital health interventions have various benefit on clinical efficacy, quality of care and reducing healthcare costs. The objective of the study is to identify new reimbursement policy trend of digital health medical devices in South Korea. Method(s): Official announcements published in national bodies and supplementary secondary research were used to capture policies, frameworks and currently approved products since 2019. Result(s): With policy development, several digital health devices and AI software have been introduced as non-reimbursement by utilizing new Health Technology Assessment (nHTA) pathway including grace period of nHTA and innovative medical devices integrated assessment pathway. AI based cardiac arrest risk management software (DeepCARS) and electroceutical device for major depressive disorders (MINDD STIM) have been approved as non-reimbursement use for about 3 years. Two digital therapeutics for insomnia and AI software for diagnosis of cerebral infarction were approved as the first innovative medical devices under new integrated assessment system, and they could be treated in the market. In addition, there is remote patient monitoring (RPM) reimbursement service fee. Continuous glucose monitoring devices have been reimbursed for type 1 diabetes patients by the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) since January 2019. Homecare RPM service for peritoneal dialysis patients with cloud platform (Sharesource) has been reimbursed since December 2019, and long-term continuous ECG monitoring service fee for wearable ECG monitoring devices (ATpatch, MEMO) became reimbursement since January 2022. Conclusion(s): Although Korean government has been developed guidelines for digital health actively, only few products had been reimbursed. To introduce new technologies for improved patient centric treatment, novel value-based assessment and new pricing guideline of digital health medical devices are quite required.Copyright © 2023

ABSTRACT

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission is NASA's first planetary defense mission to demonstrate the viability of kinetically impacting an asteroid and deflecting its trajectory. The DART spacecraft successfully launched on November 24, 2021 from the Vandenberg Space Force Base and successfully made impact on Dimorphos, the smaller asteroid in the Didymos system, on September 26, 2022. The DART spacecraft has one instrument called Didymos Reconnaissance and Asteroid Camera for Optical navigation (DRACO). DRACO is an imaging telescope that, in conjunction with the SMART Navigation algorithm, autonomously guided the DART spacecraft to the asteroid. Because DRACO is a mission critical and light sensitive instrument, the DRACO Door mechanism was designed as the protective cover. The door functions to shield DRACO from stray light during launch, to deploy in space once when commanded, and to stay 180 degrees open for the duration of the mission. The DRACO Door went through several iterations during the design phase with decisions on various components such as Frangibolts ®, torsion springs, hardstops, and latches. After fabrication and assembly, the door went through a rigorous environmental testing plan, which included deployment testing, vibration testing, and thermal vacuum testing. After successful qualification of the mechanism, the door was installed and integrated into the DART spacecraft. It should be noted that during the fabrication of the mechanism piece-parts, the COVID-19 pandemic began, and the effects of the pandemic were seen in the challenges faced during the DRACO door assembly and testing. Under the constraints of the pandemic, the DART spacecraft was successfully built, tested, and launched, and the DRACO door was successfully deployed on December 7, 2021. The door has continued to function as intended. This paper will discuss the design choices behind the door components, the environmental qualification test program, and the installation of the door onto the DART spacecraft. In addition, this paper will discuss the lessons learned and the challenges of fabricating and testing the flight hardware. © 2023 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Background: COVID-19 has been associated with cerebral microbleeds (CMB). Previously, an association of ApoE4 with COVID-19 severity and CMBs in autopsy was found. In this study, we investigated if carrying the Apoe4 allele relates to the number of CMBs in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients recovered from COVID-19. Material(s) and Method(s): Adult patients recovered from COVID-19 and a control group without a history of COVID-19 was recruited. Exclusion criteria were major neurologic disease, developmental disability or pregnancy. The participants underwent brain MRI 6 months after infection, and a blinded neuroradiologist analyzed the findings. ApoE was genotyped using a microarray. Statistical analysis was performed using the statistical software R. A negative binomial model was chosen based on the distribution of CMBs. Result(s): Of the 216 subjects that underwent MRI, 168 consented to genetic testing, additionally 2 patients were excluded due to extensive CMBs and 1 due to diffuse axonal injury. We included 113 COVID-19 patients (49 ICU-treated, 29 ward-treated and 35 home-isolated) and 52 controls. The most prevalent comorbidities were hypertension, asthma and diabetes. CMBs was found in 47 subjects, with the number of CMBs ranging from 0 to 26. The ApoeE4 allele was carried by 37%, equally distributed among the groups. After adjustment, age (aRR = 1.06, p = 0.007) and COVID-19 (aRR = 2.59, p = 0.038) were independently associated with CMBs. The ApoE4 allele (aRR = 2.16, p = 0.07, CI = 0.94-5.10) was not significant. Conclusion(s): Age and previous COVID-19, but not possession of the ApoeE4 allele, were independently associated with the number of CMBs.

ABSTRACT

Background It is a challenge for pharmacy courses worldwide to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills to equip students for their future practice. Computer-based simulation offers a way of building a bridge between theory and practice. In recent years, digital simulation has expanded rapidly as a new technique of virtual learning. The digital platform ''Pharmacy Simulator'' proposes computer-based encounters with virtual patients to train clinical and communication skills in a community pharmacy setting. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, while students were digitally resilient and endured the endless challenges of online lectures, many were dealing with Zoom and screen fatigue. Purpose To investigate pharmacy students' acceptance of Pharmacy Simulator before and during a pandemic situation. This focuses on students' self-assessment and confidence in counselling after playing the scenarios on Pharmacy Simulator. Method Two cohorts of Master of Pharmacy students at The University of Western Australia played two scenarios on Pharmacy Simulator in 2019 (anaphylaxis and salbutamol) and 2021 (anaphylaxis and vaccination). A mixed-method analysis was performed with data from (i) qualitative semi-structured interviews carried out in 2019 pertaining to participants' acceptance of Pharmacy Simulator and in 2021 (ii) a questionnaire with 25 items derived from the interviews. The interviews were transcribed verbatim into electronic format with the data management assistance MAXQDA and analyzed inductively using the Framework Method. Questionnaire responses were analyzed in Microsoft Excel using descriptive statistics. Openended questions were evaluated inductively. Findings Data were collected from 20 interviews and 31 answered questionnaires. In 2019, participants reported that Pharmacy Simulator was a fun, engaging, and straightforward learning tool and, therefore, user-friendly. They reported the feedback at the end of the session to be most valuable. The platform was perceived to fill the gap between the theory from lectures and community pharmacy practice. In 2021, participants ''agreed'' (median: 4, on a 5-point Likert scale) with seven statements about Pharmacy Simulator's usability, such as it being a helpful tool for acquiring new knowledge. Participants' confidence in counselling regarding the scenario topics improved. One participant stated, ''It taught me more through trial and error''. Conclusion Pharmacy students reported similar acceptance levels of Pharmacy Simulator before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of simulation during virtual patient encounters seems to facilitate the transfer from theory to practice, independently of learning conditions that were predominantly screen-based.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to measure the effect of equine assisted services (EAS) on mood and anxiety in health-care workers. While the emotional toll of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt in every aspect of our society, health-care workers have been hit especially hard. A survey conducted by Mental Health America during June - September in 2020, found 93% of health-care workers were experiencing stress and 86% reported experiencing anxiety. There is research to support a wide range of interventions to address stress, low mood, and anxiety, including pharmaceuticals, physical exercise, and animal interaction. While several studies have shown an improvement in anxiety and mood after interaction with horses, few studies have included a physically active control group to consider the effect of exercise on results. In this study conducted in October 2021, participants were recruited from area hospitals and randomly assigned to a control group (30-min guided walk with no horse interaction, n = 17), a low level EAS group (30-min self-guided farm tour, n = 20), or a mid-level EAS group (30 min of grooming a horse, n = 19). Before the intervention, participants completed a demographic survey. Pre and post activity, participants completed the Brief Mood Introspection Scale (BMIS) and State Anxiety Inventory for AdultsTM that measured currentfeelings of mood and anxiety, respectively. Data were analyzed using the repeated measures one-way ANOVA procedure in SPSS. This study was approved by the MSU Human Research and Protection Program and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Fifty-six health-care workers participated in the study, with 32% having worked in health care for less than 5 years and 33.9% having worked in health care for over 20 years. All participants had a significant improvement in State-Anxiety scores after completing their group activity (P < 0.001), with no differences among groups. Similarly, all groups had an improved BMIS score (P < 0.001). However, there was significantly greater improvement in BMIS scores in the mid-level EAS (P < 0.01) when compared with the control group. While all participants in this study improved both their current feelings of anxiety and mood after completing an activity on the farm, there was a greater improvement in mood in those individuals who spent 30 min grooming a horse when compared with the walk group without horse interaction. The results from this study provide further support for the impact of equine assisted services as a means of improving mood.Copyright © 2023

ABSTRACT

Objectives: Evidence demonstrates that when hospitals focus on the discharge process patient safety improves and overall costs decline. Hospital discharge requires care coordination of multiple disciplines, often leading to fragmented care, and adverse outcomes after discharge include emergency department visits and hospital readmissions. The Re-Engineered Discharge (RED) process was developed as an evidence-based strategy to improve the hospital discharge. We evaluated perspectives and priorities of physicians, health care workers, and patients involved in the vascular discharge process using RED as a framework. Method(s): A single-center qualitative analysis using a semi-structured focus groups and an interview guide based on the RED process. Focus groups were Zoom platform recorded, transcribed into text files, independently coded, and analyzed with Dedoose qualitative software using a directed content analysis approach. Thematic concepts were created, and comparisons between groups were analyzed by coding frequency. Researchers independently thematically coded each transcript;prior to analysis, all redundancy of codes was resolved;and all team members agreed on text categorization and coding frequency. Result(s): Eight focus groups with 38 participants were performed. Participants included: physicians (n = 13), nursing and ancillary staff (n = 19), and patients/caregivers (n = 6). Transcript analyses revealed facilitators and barriers to discharge. Overarching themes identified from the qualitative analysis frequencies are displayed by stakeholder role (Fig 1). Themes identified with the greatest coding frequencies included helpfulness of discharge instructions, patient health literacy, patient medical complexity, poor interdisciplinary team communication, time constraints during discharge, technology literacy of patients, barriers to obtaining medications for patients, barriers to organizing outpatient services for health care workers, barriers for patients to obtain help after discharge, and the impact of COVID-19. Conclusion(s): These findings identify the need to strengthen efforts to overcome stakeholder barriers to improve patient safety at the interface of the hospital to create a well-organized discharge. Physicians were most concerned with low patient health literacy, patient understanding of discharge instructions, organizing outpatient services, and overall patient medical complexity hindering a smooth discharge. Health care staff identified time constraints, obtaining medications and, and inter-team communication as their greatest obstacles to an organized discharge. Patients found the complexity and amount of discharge instructions, the impact of COVID-19 on support systems, and technology utilization after discharge most challenging. Modifications to address individual stakeholder barriers within the discharge process are needed to develop a national standardized discharge specific for vascular surgery patients to improve patient safety and satisfaction. ABSTRACT

Purpose: The study sets out to explore the mediating role of intellectual capital (IC) dimensions (i.e. human, structural and relational) between scholars' affiliation to online academic networks and institutional knowledge capitalization. Online academic networks are tackled through the lens of knowledge networks which have been of primary importance for new relevant knowledge acquisition during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach: A questionnaire-based survey of 305 academics from 35 different countries was conducted from July to December 2021, employing a partial least squares structural equation modelling technique. The database was initially filtered to ensure the adequacy of the sample, and data were analyzed using the statistics software package SmartPLS 3.0. Findings: Evidence was brought forward that the proposed conceptual model accounted for 52.5% of the variance in institutional knowledge capitalization, the structural and relational capital availed by knowledge networks exerting strong positive influence on the dependent variable. Research limitations/implications: The study has both research and managerial implications in that it approaches a topical phenomenon, namely the capitalization of online academic networks in the COVID-19 context, which has dramatically altered the way that research and teaching are conducted worldwide. Originality/value: The most important contribution of the paper resides in the comprehensive research model advanced which covers individual, organizational and network multifaced layers, starting with the personal and institutional motives to join a specialized network, continuing with the opportunities provided by knowledge networks in terms of intellectual capital harnessing, and ending with its influence on higher education organizations. ABSTRACT

Sustainable agriculture is the backbone of food security systems and a driver of human well-being in global economic development (Sustainable Development Goal SDG 3). With the increase in world population and the effects of climate change due to the industrialization of economies, food security systems are under pressure to sustain communities. This situation calls for the implementation of innovative solutions to increase and sustain efficacy from farm to table. Agricultural social networks (ASNs) are central in agriculture value chain (AVC) management and sustainability and consist of a complex network inclusive of interdependent actors such as farmers, distributors, processors, and retailers. Hence, social network structures (SNSs) and practices are a means to contextualize user scenarios in agricultural value chain digitalization and digital solutions development. Therefore, this research aimed to unearth the roles of agricultural social networks in AVC digitalization, enabling an inclusive digital economy. We conducted automated literature content analysis followed by the application of case studies to develop a conceptual framework for the digitalization of the AVC toward an inclusive digital economy. Furthermore, we propose a transdisciplinary framework that guides the digitalization systematization of the AVC, while articulating resilience principles that aim to attain sustainability. The outcomes of this study offer software developers, agricultural stakeholders, and policymakers a platform to gain an understanding of technological infrastructure capabilities toward sustaining communities through digitalized AVCs.

Limaye says the rise of social media-based patient recruitment has opened the door for sponsors and investigators to mine real-world data and to give patients a more central focus in research.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of the most frequent Asn501 polar uncharged amino acid mutations upon important structural properties of SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) Surface Glycoprotein RBD–hACE2 (human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) heterodimer. Mutations N501Y, N501T and N501S were considered and their impact upon complex solubility, secondary motifs formation and intermolecular hydrogen bonding interface was analyzed. Results and findings are reported based on 50 ns run in Gromacs molecular dynamics simulation software. Special attention is paid on the biomechanical shifts in the receptor-binding domain (RBD) [499-505]: ProThrAsn(Tyr)GlyValGlyTyr, having substituted Asparagine to Tyrosine at position 501. The main findings indicate that the N501S mutation increases SARS-CoV-2 S-protein RBD–hACE2 solubility over N501T, N501 (wild type): (Formula presented.), (Formula presented.). The N501Y mutation shifts (Formula presented.) -helix S-protein RBD [366-370]: SerValLeuTyrAsn into π-helix for t > 38.5 ns. An S-protein RBD [503-505]: ValGlyTyr shift from (Formula presented.) -helix into a turn is observed due to the N501Y mutation in t > 33 ns. An empirical proof for the presence of a Y501-binding pocket, based on RBD [499-505]: PTYGVGY (Formula presented.) 's RMSF peak formation is presented. There is enhanced electrostatic interaction between Tyr505 (RBD) phenolic -OH group and Glu37 (hACE2) side chain oxygen atoms due to the N501Y mutation. ABSTRACT

Background and Objectives: COVID-19 pandemic caused a lot of severe problems in the world. This study investigated the epidemiology of the disease in Tehran in the first quarter of the epidemic's beginning. Method(s): The available information recorded for patients from 20 February 2020 to 20 May 2020 in Tehran was used. To prepare disease-related distribution maps, the addresses of patients' residences in Google Earth were called to ARC-GIS version 10-4. The methods used in GIS include IDW, Hotspot and also software development. Result(s): Overall, 3699 individuals whose PCR results were positive in Tehran were included in the study. Out of the total number of them, 550 people died and the fatality rate of the disease in hospitalized patients was 14.9%. One thousand five hundred thirty patients (41.4%) have recovered, and the remaining 1619 patients were under treatment until data collection. Of the total, 1479 confirmed cases were women (40%). The average age was 57.4 years (SD=16.5). The density of cases in areas 4, 8 and 13, and the existence of some cluster diseases in neighborhoods such as Tehran Pars, Ayat and Pirouzi streets are noteworthy points. Conclusion(s): The trend of the COVID-19 epidemic is dire and requires long-term measures. Nevertheless, to control this disease, the health system, the policy of isolating patients and suspicious people, wear masks especially in densely populated areas, are the most important controlling factors.Copyright © 2022 The Authors. ABSTRACT

Background: Coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). WHO declared the outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in January 2020 & a pandemic in March 2020. In India Oxford University-Astra Zeneca's Covishield vaccine, manufactured by serum institute of India and Bharath Biotech's Covaxin are being used for vaccination programme. In this study, we assess adverse reactions following Covid-19 vaccination & incidence of COVID-19 disease among vaccinated people across Kerala. Since it was newer vaccine and general population was afraid of side effects. The present study aimed to study the adverse effects of COVID-19 vaccination among general population aged above 18 years in Kerala. Method(s): A descriptive cross sectional study was conducted among COVID-19 vaccinated individuals above 18 yrs of age residing in Kerala from July 2021 to December 2021. Pattern of adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination (AEFI) were assessed using a semi structured questionnaire. An online questionnaire using Kobo Toolbox was developed and shared via online platform to record the self-reported adverse events following vaccination. A respondent driven sampling method was used. The data was downloaded in MS Excel and analysed using Microsoft excel. Result(s): Study was conducted among 526 people across Kerala, among which both males(45.63%) and females (54.18%). Majority of them received COVISHEID (92.97%) and rest of them received COVAXIN (6.24%) and SPUTNIK (0.57%). Out of which 65.97% received 2 doses and 34.03% received only one dose of vaccine. More than half of them (61.5%) faced side effects during post vaccination period. The symptoms were very mild in which fever (65.74%) and tiredness (76.85%) were the commonest symptoms. Conclusion(s): In the present study, majority of the vaccinated people experienced very mild and self limiting adverse effects, those were very mild & self limiting. It is a fact that COVID-19 vaccines doesn't provided 100% efficiency, but our study indicates that it does provides protection against COVID-19 infection to a great extend & breakthrough infections are very less severe and asymptomatic for vaccinated people.Copyright © 2023, Dr. Yashwant Research Labs Pvt. ABSTRACT

Introduction: Loop diuretics are the first-line treatment for volume overload in acute decompensation of congestive heart failure (AHF). Loop diuretic resistance is common due to pharmacologic tachyphylaxis. Therefore, thiazide and thiazide-like diuretics are often used as add-on therapy to combine two different pharmacologic mechanisms. This systemic review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize the current evidence on the efficacy and safety of metolazone and other thiazide-like diuretics in AHF. Method(s): PRISMA guidelines were followed in conducting this systematic review. PubMed, Scopus, PubMed Central, and Embase databases were searched using relevant keywords for studies published before 5 Jan 2022. and title screening was performed, followed by full-text screening using the Covidence software. Data were extracted, and analysis was done using Cochrane Review Manager (RevMan v5.1). The results were reported in odds ratio and mean difference with 95% confidence intervals. Result(s): Out of 2999 studies identified by database search, eight studies met the inclusion criteria (2 RCTs and 6 cohort studies). Pooled analysis using a random-effects model showed no difference in mean difference among the metolazone group and control group for 24 hours total urine output (MD 69.32, 95% CI -638.29 to 776.94;n = 551;I2 = 84%), change in urine output in 24 hours (MD -284.09, 95% CI -583.99 to 15.81;n = 345;I2 = 0%), 48 hours total urine output (MD -465.62, 95% CI -1302.22 to 370.99;n = 242;I2 = 0%) and urine output at 72 hours (MD -13.24, 95% CI -90.88 to 64.40;n = 205;I2 = 0%). However, studies with furosemide only in the comparator arm, 24 hours of total urine outcome favored metolazone (MD 692.70, 95% CI 386.59 to 998.82;n = 334;I2 = 0%). There was no difference between the two groups in the rate of adverse events, loss of weight, mortality, or readmission rates. Conclusion(s): Metolazone therapy in diuretic resistant AHF may improves urine output and facilitates achieving a net negative balance. Thus, metolazone and thiazide-like diuretics can be used as add-on therapy in acute decompensation of heart failure, especially in diuretic resistance.Copyright © 2023 The Author(s)

ABSTRACT

After some initial hesitancy at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the academic community agreed that the infection process is mostly airborne and generally associated with closed environments. Therefore, assessing the indoor infection probability is mandatory to contain the spread of the disease, especially in those environments, like school classrooms, hospital wards or public transportation, with higher risk of overcrowding. For this reason, we developed a software tool in Python to compute infection probability and determine those mechanisms that contribute to reduce its diffusion in closed settings. In this paper, we will briefly illustrate the model we used and focus our attention on the description of the main features of the software and give some examples of how it can be used in clinical practice to predict the spread of the disease in the rooms of a generic ward, optimize room occupancy or drive healthcare workers activity schedule. Finally, some limitations and further implementations of our work will be reported.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The prospective, longitudinal, community-based CONTACT study aimed to improve our understanding of COVID-19 immunity, and other characteristics related to SARS-CoV-2 long-term, including the assessment of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) at baseline and over time by infection status. Method(s): Participants living or working in Lake County, IL were recruited between November 2020 and January 2021. At baseline and follow up visits (3-, 6-, and 9-Months-M-), participants self-reported their occupational exposure, COVID-19 vaccination status and provided nasal and blood serum specimens for molecular (RT-PCR) and serologic (IgG) testing to detect current or previous SARS-CoV-2 infection. HRQoL questionnaires EQ-5D-5L were completed online approximately within two weeks post-testing (at 0.5, 3.5, 6.5, and 9.5 months) after results were communicated. EQ-5D-5L information was described and stratified by COVID-19 status at baseline, 3M, 6M and 9M - software: SAS-v9.4. Result(s): Data from 1008 participants were analyzed. Participants testing positive to COVID-19 were 56/952, 48/751, 40/693, and 19/654, respectively, at baseline, 3M, 6M, and 9M. Of the five domains of EQ-5D-5L, a higher percentage of participants who tested positive for COVID-19 reported having no anxiety or depression versus those who tested negative: at baseline (55.4% [31/56] vs 50.5% [481/952]);3M (68.8% [33/48] vs. 56.3% [423/751]);6M (67.5% [27/40] vs. 56.3% [390/693]);and 9M (73.7% [14/19] vs. 60.4% [395/654]). Median Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score was at least 2 points higher at all time- points for participants who tested positive except at last visit (baseline: 89.0 vs. 87.0;3M: 88.0 vs. 86.0;6M: 87.5 vs. 85.0;9M: 85.0 vs. 87.0) Conclusion(s): This analysis provides insight into participant HRQoL burden at enrollment and over time when a positive test to COVID-19 was communicated. At all time-points, anxiety or depression was experienced by more participants who tested negative versus those who didn't.Copyright © 2023

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to outline the profile of retractions of scientific articles on COVID-19 published in journals indexed in the Scopus database between 2020 and 2021. To analyze the data, we used a bibliometric technique, with the Bibliometrix package in the R-Studio software, and descriptive statistics. Twenty-nine retractions were analyzed, and we found that the most common reasons for retraction were related to ethical issues and that 68.97% of authors have previously retracted articles. We concluded that there appears to have been a change in the publication policies of journals, which resulted in an increase in scientific retractions related to COVID-19 during the study period.
